Construction and Materials
Skana Forest Products Ltd. offers a range of firewood products designed for efficient and clean burning. The primary material used in their firewood is high-quality, kiln-dried hardwood. This specific drying process is crucial for reducing moisture content, which enhances the burning efficiency and minimizes smoke production. The hardwoods selected are known for their dense structure and high caloric value, contributing to a longer, hotter burn. Common wood types utilized are typically local hardwoods, ensuring sustainability and reduced transportation emissions.
The construction of Skana's firewood products involves careful splitting and sizing of logs. This ensures that the wood is uniformly cut, making it easier to handle, stack, and load into fireplaces or stoves. The logs are processed to meet optimal dimensions for standard fireplace and stove openings, promoting good airflow for better combustion. The kiln-drying process not only reduces moisture but also helps to kill any insects or fungi that might be present in the wood, resulting in a cleaner product.
