BILCO fixed railing system provides a permanent means of fall protection for hatch openings. Meets and exceeds OSHA fall protection regulations (29 FR 1910.23). Bil-Guard™ models are available for most roof hatch and automatic fire vent sizes (shown on Type S Roof Hatch).

Remember, safety first! CrystaLite has taken the traditional design of the Roof Access Hatch and brought today’s newest safety innovations to the roof. The Roof Hatch is coated with an electrostatically applied, thermally-fused powder coat in high gloss Safety Red finish, meeting Federal Spec. #11105 for safety red warning color. This finish not only allows you to visually locate the hatch from a much greater distance than a normal primer coated hatch, but also alerts anyone on the roof that there is a roof opening nearby. Additionally, with the lid in the open position there is a specially designed visual warning signal alerting you that the hatch is open.

Milcor hatch covers open easily to 90 degrees. Operation is assisted by enclosed torsion bar or torsion coil spring operators. Automatic hold-open arms keep doors securely open.

Heavy, closed cell, rubber gaskets factory-applied to the units provide a barrier to weather penetration and drafts. Latching devices with inside and outside handles hold hatches tightly closed.
