Product Summary
Construction and Materials
Vinyl Design Corporation offers a range of high-quality casement windows designed for durability, energy efficiency, and aesthetic appeal. These windows are meticulously constructed using premium materials to ensure long-lasting performance and minimal maintenance.
Construction Details
- Frame and Sash: The primary material for both the frame and sash is robust, multi-chambered vinyl. This design provides exceptional insulation, preventing heat transfer and contributing to improved energy efficiency. The vinyl is formulated for resistance to warping, cracking, and fading, ensuring the window maintains its structural integrity and appearance over time.
- Reinforcement: To further enhance strength and rigidity, particularly in larger window sizes, the internal cavities of the vinyl profiles are often reinforced with galvanized steel or aluminum inserts. This reinforcement ensures that the window maintains its shape and operational ease, even under significant pressure or stress.
- Glass System: These casement windows come standard with double-pane insulating glass. For enhanced thermal performance and to meet various climate zone requirements, upgrades to triple-pane glass are available. The glass units are sealed to prevent moisture infiltration, which can lead to fogging and reduced visibility. Low-E (low-emissivity) coatings and argon gas fills are often incorporated into the glass package to further reduce heat transfer and improve U-values and Solar Heat Gain Coefficients.
- Hardware: The operating mechanism, typically a crank system or push-out lever, is engineered for smooth and reliable operation. The hardware is usually constructed from durable metals, such as steel or aluminum, and often features corrosion-resistant finishes to withstand environmental exposure. Multi-point locking systems are integrated into the sash and frame, providing enhanced security and a tight seal when the window is closed.
- Seals and Weatherstripping: High-performance EPDM rubber or silicone weatherstripping is applied around the perimeter of the sash to create an airtight seal against drafts, water, and air infiltration. This meticulous sealing contributes significantly to the window's energy efficiency and comfort.
- Screen: A finely woven fiberglass screen is typically provided to allow for ventilation while keeping insects and debris out. The screen frame is usually made of aluminum for durability and is designed for easy removal for cleaning.
Materials Used
- Vinyl: High-grade, multi-chambered virgin vinyl extrusions.
- Reinforcement: Galvanized steel or aluminum.
- Glass: Insulated glass units (IGUs) with options for double or triple panes, Low-E coatings, and argon gas fill.
- Hardware: Steel, aluminum, or other durable metal alloys with corrosion-resistant finishes.
- Seals: EPDM rubber or silicone.

Frame Options
Vinyl Design Corporation offers a range of frame options for their casement windows, designed to provide durability, energy efficiency, and aesthetic appeal. These frames are constructed from high-quality vinyl, a material known for its low maintenance and resistance to warping, cracking, and fading.
The primary frame material used by Vinyl Design Corporation is premium vinyl. This material is engineered for longevity and performance. It provides excellent insulation, contributing to reduced energy costs by minimizing heat transfer. The vinyl construction also makes the frames resistant to moisture and corrosion, ensuring they maintain their integrity in various weather conditions.
While specific decorative or custom frame profiles are not detailed, the standard vinyl frames are designed to offer a clean and modern look suitable for a wide range of architectural styles. The material itself can be formulated in various colors to complement the exterior and interior of a home.
The construction of the frames incorporates features that enhance structural integrity and sealing. This includes:
- Multi-Chambered Design: Many vinyl window frames feature an internal multi-chambered design. This not only adds strength to the frame but also creates air pockets that act as additional insulation, further improving thermal performance.
- Reinforcement: For added durability and structural support, especially in larger window sizes, the vinyl frames can be reinforced with metal components within the extrusion. This ensures the window remains stable and operates smoothly over time.
- Fusion-Welded Corners: The corners of the frames are typically fusion-welded. This process creates a strong, airtight, and watertight seal, preventing drafts and water infiltration, and contributing to the overall longevity of the window.
- Sealing System: Integrated weatherstripping and sealing systems are a key feature of Vinyl Design Corporation's frames. These are designed to create a tight seal between the sash and the frame, enhancing energy efficiency and preventing air and water leaks.
The frame options are geared towards providing a robust and energy-efficient solution. The inherent properties of vinyl, combined with thoughtful design and construction, ensure that these casement window frames offer reliable performance and a lasting aesthetic for any building project.
Glass Options
Vinyl Design Corporation offers a selection of high-quality glass options for their casement windows, designed to enhance both the aesthetics and performance of your home. These options provide various levels of insulation, light control, and energy efficiency to meet diverse needs.
- Double Pane Insulated Glass: This is a standard offering, providing a good balance of energy efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Two panes of glass are separated by a space filled with inert gas, which significantly reduces heat transfer compared to single-pane windows.
- Low-E (Low-Emissivity) Coating: Available as an upgrade, Low-E coatings are microscopically thin, transparent layers applied to the glass surface. These coatings help to reflect infrared light (heat), keeping your home cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter. This leads to reduced energy bills and improved comfort.
- Argon Gas Fill: For enhanced thermal performance, the space between the glass panes can be filled with Argon gas. Argon is denser than air and a better insulator, further improving the energy efficiency of the window and reducing heat transfer.
- Grids (Muntins): Vinyl Design Corporation offers decorative grid options that can be placed between the glass panes. These grids provide the classic look of divided lites without compromising the insulating properties of the sealed glass unit. They come in various patterns and finishes to complement different architectural styles.
- Tempered Glass: In situations where safety is a concern, such as windows near doors or in areas prone to breakage, tempered glass can be specified. This type of glass is significantly stronger than standard annealed glass and breaks into small, relatively harmless pieces when fractured.
- Laminated Glass: Another safety-focused option, laminated glass consists of two or more panes of glass bonded together with a plastic interlayer. This construction provides enhanced security, sound dampening, and UV protection.
Options-Styles
Vinyl Design Corporation offers a selection of casement windows, a popular choice for their excellent ventilation, energy efficiency, and modern aesthetic. These windows are designed to swing outward, allowing for maximum airflow and unobstructed views.

Product Options and Styles
- Frame Materials: The primary material for Vinyl Design Corporation's sliding windows is high-quality vinyl. This material is chosen for its low maintenance, energy efficiency, and resistance to weathering.
- Color Options: While specific color swatches are not detailed, vinyl windows are typically available in a range of popular exterior colors to complement various architectural styles. Interior finishes may also be offered to match your decor.
- Glass Packages: Options for glass typically include standard double-pane configurations for improved insulation. For enhanced energy performance, upgrades to triple-pane glass or the inclusion of Low-E coatings and argon gas fills may be available to further reduce heat transfer and UV penetration.
- Hardware Finishes: The locking mechanisms and handle styles are designed for both security and ease of operation. Finishes are generally chosen to be corrosion-resistant and aesthetically pleasing, often including options like white, brushed nickel, or polished brass.
- Screen Options: Sliding windows come equipped with screens to allow for ventilation while keeping insects out. These screens are typically constructed from durable fiberglass mesh.
- Configuration: Sliding horizontal windows operate on a track, allowing one or more sashes to slide horizontally past each other. This design is ideal for spaces where traditional casement or awning windows might be impractical.
